Family Description

We are warm, fun and a happy family. We have been married since 2007 and have known each since 2000. My wife loves to cook and share her chief quality food dishes with family, friends and neighbors. We like to barbecue, to play board games, to watch movies and to spend time in parks. Spending time in a museum or library \ bookstore is a good family day. We like to travel. We enjoy walking and riding our bikes. My wife loves to work and to spend time in her mini studio that has wheel for creating ceramics. We enjoy special breakfast on Sundays. One of our favorite Sunday Breakfast is called Waffle Sunday (Belgian Waffles). I enjoy sci-fi movies and a big fan of Star Wars and Star Trek.

Preference Description

We are open to adopting a sibling group between 6-16 years old. Minor disability conditions would be considered. A mix of both boy(s) and girl(s) that are bilingual, English\Spanish speakers would be ideal.

The Benton Family Profile

We would be blessed to share out lives with 2 to 3 siblings (a combination of male (s) and female (s) that are within the age range between 6 and 16 that resemble our racial and cultural mix. Minor correctable conditions would be preferred. We believe in openness and family cultural connections as we are a multicultural family that would respect and engage with our new family members's culture and heritage. We are both from very different cultures and ethnicities. We truly love diversity. We have friends with different nationalities, religions and traditions. In our home, we maintain two different cultures and we welcome bringing in an additional culture.

Introduction

We are both bilingual in Spanish and English. We have both studied other foreign languages Mario studied a little bit of Portuguese and Rasec studied a little bit of Italian. We love languages. Also, Rasec is an amazing Spanish teacher.

Home and Community

We live in a Cul de Sac in a small community of homes. We have a basketball court on the street and our neighbors are close. Kids play outside all the time. I hope our kids enjoy their new home and community that includes nearby schools and parks within walking distance.

Parenting Experience

We have experience caring for family members of our brothers and sisters. My wife has some experience teaching teens. I coached and trained teens in basketball one summer. Also, I mentored a foster college student that worked for me via a work program at a previous employer. We read and watch parenting books and videos.

Support

We have support from family and friends. We will also rely on professional family support services and groups as well as reading and training.

Motivation to Adopt

We have always felt that we had enough love, care and time to give a child. Our family's time to grow has arrived and we will provide a wonderful home filled with love, understanding and patience as we move forward with adding a wonderful group of new personalities to our home and family.
