We would like to adopt a child/children preferably 12 years old or younger. We are open to any gender, ethnicity, or special needs. We feel we can accommodate a sibling group of up to 4 kids. We are open to children with many, many special needs.
In general, we are willing to accept minor needs: physical, learning, attachment or developmental delays. Not willing to accept children prone to violence or acting out sexual behavior if they are above the age of 10.
Our names are Rory and Lindsey Rodgers, we are both 39 years old. We have 4 kids, Tatum (5), Titus (6), Laney (11) and Russell (14).
Rory and Lindsey were both born and raised in Oregon, but have spent extensive time in other countries, surrounded by other cultures.
Rory works full-time for Calvary Chapel of Crook County INC as a Lead Pastor and has a flexible work schedule.
Lindsey is self-employed as a Certified Public Accountant which also allows her to be flexible with her schedule.
We live in the small, rural community of Prineville, Oregon. This town has three elementary, a middle and high school, all within walking distance of our Church.
This community is filled with opportunities for many different types of activities for families to be involved. Some of the activities our family is currently involved in is swimming, soccer, youth group, hiking, biking, motorcycling, and horse-back riding.
We also enjoy music and our home is filled with piano, guitar and singing lessons.
Prineville is also a very tight-knit community which has allowed us to develop strong friendships.
We own a large home with many bedrooms and a big back-yard. Our neighborhood is filled with children and has a park just a short walk from our front door.
We have lots of experience with children. Our oldest biological child is now 14!
Rory served as a youth pastor, with Lindsey alongside him, for 8 years.
Both Rory and Lindsey have continued to serve in children and youth ministries at their church once he became a Senior Pastor 12 years ago.
Rory has also coached boys and girls soccer teams for 8 years.
Multiply families in our church family, who we are close with, have adopted or fostered children in their homes.
Our extended biological families are committed to loving and supporting us.
We are rich in extended friendships as well who have adopted and are committed to being resources for us during this transition.
Our adoption agency has also been a great resource and promises to make themselves available to whatever we need.
We have prayed, read books, sought people with experience, for years as we have contemplated adoption.
It has been a life-long calling on our lives to love children and we desire to provide a stable home for them for their entire lives.
Love, self-sacrifice and forgiveness govern our home and we hope that it can be extended to children in need.
