Family Description

We are a caring, loving home that accepts and nurtures everyone for who they are. We wish to find children who will thrive in a home of support, kindness, structure and fun! We are an active family with a house full of dogs.

Preference Description

We have no specific gender or race. We wish to adopt a child, or children that still have years of developement we can provide for the in a safe, nurturing home.

The Moon-Bartlett Family Profile

Our family is deeply rooted in the expression of True self. Our future children do not look, act or wish to be anyone but who they are intended to be. We seek 1-3 children/siblings from any race, gender or mild condition, from 5-15(ish) years of age, who wish to find a home full of love, support, self-identity and fun! Each child or childrens unique differences, background, interests, issues and passions will be supported and explored in order for everyone to find their own way to thrive.

Our lives

Our lives are a balance of fun, business, rest, and self-preservation. While we both work full-time jobs, our work environments are flexible and mostly from home. We enjoy having the freedom to concentrate on other things throughout the day while also taking care of what needs to be done to pay the bills.

Our personal lives are filled with lots of home time such as gardening, sports/exercise, playing with and walking our dogs, lots of target runs and a ton of cooking! While at home we also enjoy having an active neighborhood full of kids, parks, trails and diversity among its residents.

A few times a year, we make it a priority to take long vacations. From traveling across the world, beach time in Mexico, or simply jumping in the car and heading out to explore the country. This time gives us the opportunity to reconnect as a family and concentrate on our relationships and memories together. Our first stop with our children is DISNEY WORLD!

Home and Community

We live in a suburban community full of children ranging from infant through high school. During the warm summer months, most families are outside with each other while the kids get to run around the parks, yards and ponds together. There are multiple outdoor play/family areas and trails to explore as well as a community clubhouse and pool.

Our home currently has no children, but is set up with a play room upstairs near our future childrens rooms as well as our own pool in the backyard!.

Our community is situated near the local elementary, middle and high schools of Carrollton Farmers Branch School district as well as city parks and recreation sites.

Parenting Experience

Our parenting experience so far has been with our nephews, who are now 10 and 12, doing overnight and weekend visits as well as other family gatherings. We also have several friends who have children we spend time with including overnight visits in the past.

In addition to parenting skills, we have also volunteered at several schools as a mentor for STEM education, arts and post-graduation prep.

Our training to date has been with the foster/adoption process but will probably will expand once we experience other situations where we see more training is needed.

Support

Family: Our extended family is small including Steves mother, brother and wife, and Brians aunt. However small, they are extremely supportive and wish to support us an our children in any way needed.

Our local schools and school clubs will be a big part of our support throughout our childrens day to day life. It is important to keep them active and exploring news hobbies, interests, and ways to learn in and outside the classroom.

Special interests clubs (4H, Arts, summer leagues, etc.). Being an active family we will also encourage our children to seek out passions/hobbies/etc. outside the home/school world in order to meet other types of people and learn new skills both function and interpersonal.

Volunteering: Through our own volunteer efforts we personally have grown while also helping others and met others who have been on our side while also opening our eyes to things we were unaware of. Having a child coming from the foster system, it will not only be important for him/her to experience the need of volunteering but the constant reminder that we ALL need someone to lean on.

Strong Family and Fun

Motivation to Adopt

Having both faced different types of adversity throughout our life, we have learned that there is no challenge too big or difficult with knowledge, support and love. Anything can be worked through.

We want to be able to share our learning experiences with our children to help them find their own path along the road to healing, discovery, happiness and success.
