Parenting Experience

We have parented three biological children, as well as many foster children, and 3 adopted children. I ran a daycare for fifteen years, and was a cub scout, Boy Scout, and Girl Scout leader. My spouse has coached t-ball, as well as being a Scout master. We also took an additional 18 hour elevated needs training, in addition to the countless books we have read regarding the effects of trauma on children, parenting, and trauma informed parenting, we also had an additional 6 hours of TBRI parent therapy.

We have family support, church support, friends, and many community opportunities, such as trauma counselors, occupational therapist, behavioral therapist, and online support groups

Motivation to Adopt

We are fully committed to meeting any needs that may arise for our children. We continually are investing in educating ourselves with trauma-informed parenting and relying on our past experiences as parents and foster parents. Although we have raised three children and adopted three more we still have a strong desire to adopt again. I understand the impact that adoption has on a child because I was adopted. We have the time, ability, and commitment to offer more children a family.
