Family Description

We are a family of five (plus one dog) who is looking to add to our family through adoption. Our youngest child is 8 and we are interested in keeping the birth order. That means we are looking for a girl younger than 7. We believe that God has called us to increase the love in our hearts by connecting with and nurturing a new little one who needs a stable, loving family. We are certain that God will bring us the child who is a great match for us, one who we need and love more than she could ever need us.

Preference Description

We are primarily looking for a girl, about 4 to 6 years old. We are open to special needs or a sibling pair (girl/boy) on a case by case basis.

The Kennedy Family Profile

We would like to adopt a child between the ages of 0 and 7 inclusive. We are open to a girl or a sibling group of 2 (girl/boy). We are open to any race/culture and to children with special needs. Medical issues are tough for us, because where we live doesn't have the specialists that some children require. However, emotional and academic issues aren't a problem.

Our names are Suzanne (45 yrs old) and Tyler Kennedy (44 yrs old). We have 3 biological children: Riley (girl-11), Kael (boy-10), and Quinn (boy-8). We also have a 2 year old Lab/German Short-haired Pointer mix named Blue. Tyler works close to home at the family business. Our days are filled with school, chores, and lots of time to play with family and friends. We spend a bit of time at our family cabin in the mountains throughout the year.

I am a stay-at-home parent and have a flexible work schedule. My partner works full-time for Interpath Labs, Inc. as a Manager and has a flexible work schedule.

Home and Community

We live in Pendleton, Oregon on the eastern side of the state. It's a small town with lots to offer. We live in a great neighborhood with lots kids to play. We are within walking distance of a great elementary school and 3 parks. Our town offers all sorts of competitive and recreational sports and activities.

Parenting Experience

In college, I (Suzanne) worked at a foster care agency in one of the group homes. I went on to teach middle school for ten years. Tyler and I have three children, along with 18 nieces and nephews. Tyler helps coach wrestling, football, and baseball.

We have a large extended family and set of friends to support us. In addition, we've lined out counselors, therapists, etc. available to us.

Motivation to Adopt

We are in this for life. We understand the challenges and are prepared to do whatever is necessary to add a child successfully to our family.
