Family Description

Dad - 35 year old Tim Gallaher. White male. The guy who gets things done and brings all the fun to any event and any moment. He loves sports, football in particular and can't wait to play catch or run around with his kids. Mom - 35 year old Dinaya Gallaher. Latina. Mexican. Nurturing. Flourishes on being a caregiver; cooking, cleaning, comforting when there are owies. She loves music and will dance the day away, no matter what she's doing you can bet there's music playing in the background. Child - 3 year old Xavier Gallaher. Black. Spanish was his first language. you can count on him doing anything ACTIVE, whether it's indoors or outside. Outside preferably! He is a water baby and loves all things water. Floating on the lake with family, playing in a kiddy pool, splashing his dogs or just riding around in his scooter. Xavier has a BIG heart, is silly and playful. He can't wait to have a sibling(s).

Preference Description

We are looking to adopting a single child or a sibling group of any background and are open to all ages. We're open to minor medical conditions but are also open to considering all. Any gender and racial background will be considered.

The Gallaher Family Profile

We are wanting to growing our family with a single child or a sibling set and child(ren) with any background and of all ages. Our 3 year old son is Black and we honor him by celebrating the beauty of his background. We affirm his unique beauty and have voluntarily maintained contact with bio dad. He face times on special occasions and it helps support Xavier in his journey to one day wanting to know more about who he is. We would do the same for any children joining our family.

Introduction

We are a crazy silly family. Any week night you can find us gathered at the kitchen island where we eat together and talk about our day. It's where warm food is served and laughter is shared. It's not a surprise if you find daddy and Xavier dancing around to music or wrestling in the living room. We have fun without needing much to make that happen. Mom loves to dance and sing to music. Mama is also always planning and cooking home cooked meals. Mexican is our favorite. We eat things like pizza or go out to a restaurant as a family here and there. In the summer, you can find us outside playing with Xavier, hiking or our favorite out in the water! Family is important to us so mom's dad and sister visit often and Xavier's auntie Jessie, uncle Jordan and kids live down the street! Whatever adventure we do, likely is with family.

Home and Community

Our home is a 3 bedroom home on just over 1.5 acres of land. We are 15 minutes from Bend and away enough to have a bit of a slower pace lifestyle. There are several family parks with many families to meet on any given day and lots of kids of all ages who play and laugh and share experiences with. Our community is family oriented. We have great schools and various sports opportunities!

Parenting Experience

Tim (dad) has been like a 2nd dad to baby sister Kendy who's 16 years younger. Even when he was just a teen, as soon as Kendy came along, he obsessed over protecting her, playing with her and being the fun silly big brother. Tim also experienced a baby nephew living in the famliy home (in early 20s), and contributed to offering support as his mom fostered his nephew.

Diana (aka Dinaya or mom) has been a 2nd mom to her 2 nephews Eli & Isaiah. When they were born, she was instantly infatuated with them and was intentional in being present in all things for them; sporting events, birthdays, holidays and day to day school pick ups, drop offs and hanging out with just the kids while the parents worked.

Tim & Dinaya are parents to Xavier, 3yr old.

Support

Tim's sister Jessie and brother in law Jordan adopted a sibling set of 5, several years ago from the foster care system. The kiddos had many challenges due to experienced trauma and have since, grown leaps and bounds. They are thriving and live down the street! The fam can't wait for the addition to our family. The more the merrier and more holiday fun!! Dinaya's family is happy and eager to meet whoever is meant to join the family. Like they did with Xavier, our whole family can't wait to embrace, love on and be here to help support along the way.

Motivation to Adopt

Tim and Dinaya met 14 years ago, when 21 years old. Soon after meeting, Dinaya shared her desire to adopt. She knew this was her journey and what she was meant to do. Surprisingly, Tim said he shared the same dream. Tim & D are committed wholeheartedly and will rely on their support network to embark on this journey. It takes a village and the Gallaher family is fortunate to have, the best and most loving families any child could ever wish for!
