Family Description

We are currently a family of two and have been for three years. As a couple, we play off each other well and complement one another, with one of us generally making up for any weakness in the other. We are both very forgiving of one another and move on pretty quickly from any unintentional hurt or offense, and we never intentionally hurt or offend one another.

Preference Description

We are looking to adopt a child or sibling group ages newborn to 10, of any ethnic background, no gender preference. We are willing to accept minor physical or medical disabilities, especially if they are improved through therapies.

The Watson Family Profile

We are hoping to bring a sibling group into our home, between the ages of zero and ten years old. We don't have a preference for race, but are looking for children who have not exhibited aggressive and destructive behaviors. Children who will fit in well with our family will be curious, love swimming and animals, and like spending time as a family.

Introduction

We both work full time and like to spend as much time together as possible when we are not working. We read a lot, play games, do puzzles, and play with our guinea pigs. We do tend to spend a lot of our free time at home, but also enjoy going to the movies and going to the riparian preserve to feed the ducks.

Home and Community

We live in a two-story, three bedroom house where the children will be comfortable and have the chance to play and read together. Our neighborhood has a community pool, multiple parks, and a basketball court. We live close by an elementary school and two high schools, various doctor's offices, and multiple daycares if we decided they were necessary.

Parenting Experience

We have attended a multi-week foster parent training which had both in-person and online components. We have one niece and multiple nephews; unfortunately, they live out of state, but we love spending time with them when we can visit with them. Diana is a teacher with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in education, which both required multiple classes in child development and psychology. We also have friends with children that we occasionally get to spend time with.

Support

Diana's parents live about ten minutes away and plan on providing childcare when necessary and will be very involved in the lives of our children. Ben's parents live out of state, but will also visit frequently and emotionally support our family. We also belong to an active church community, where the children will be attend Sunday classes and have various leaders who are also looking out for them.

Motivation to Adopt

We are incredibly committed to making our new family work. Having a family is one of the most important things in our life, and we are willing to do whatever it takes to keep our children safe and help them live the healthiest and happiest lives possible.
