Family Description

Laura & Curtis have been together since middle school. Married in 2002. We have three biological children together and adopted our fourth child through foster care. Our children are currently ages 17, 13, 10 and 4. We are hoping to grow our family through adoption. Our prayers is for a close age sibling for our youngest to grow and make memories with as our older children do. Preferably under age 9. Any ethnicity (we are a multi racial family) any gender. We have been licensed foster parents for almost six years and have experience in parenting children from all backgrounds. We are open to sibling groups as well. Laura is a stay at home mom (foster parent) and Curtis owns his own Roofing company for the past 20 years. We are both flexible with our schedules, willing to travel and willing to keep children in contact with siblings/parents/family as needed. We are open to mild/moderate behaviors/disabilities along with Down syndrome as well. We are a stick together type of family that enjoys traveling and having fun together as a family.

Preference Description

Introduction

Hello we are Laura and Curtis Elmer. I am currently 39 years old. My Husband is currently 41 years old. We have 5 children. Our children's ages are 18, 14, 11, 5 & 2

I am a stay-at-home parent and have a flexible work schedule. My Husband works full-time for C and C Roofing LLC as the Owner of the company and has a flexible work schedule.

We are a fun, active, loving family. We love doing everything as a family. Vacations, walks, swimming in our pool, going to the park, local zoo, aquarium and more.

We live in a small safe waterfront community. All five of Lauras siblings, parents, nieces and nephews live in our same community. We are a close, loving and supportive family.

We live two blocks away from our Elementary school, five minutes from middle and high schools.

Both Curtis and Laura come from large families and we hope to add to our family through adoption.

Home and Community

We live in the State of Maryland. Our home is a single family home. We have 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms. We live in a Suburban neighborhood. We have two dogs and two cats. We live in a small, safe waterfront community. Two blocks from Elementary school.

Parenting Experience

We have three biological children and two adopted (through foster care). We have been foster parents for seven years. Completed pride training and complete 10/12 hours of training each year through social services. We have lots of experience with children who have experienced trauma, drug exposure, Down syndrome, ptsd and more. We also help with our church youth as well.

Support

We live in a small community where Lauras parents, five siblings and 11 nieces and nephews all reside within walking distance. We are all extremely close and have lots of support and help.

Motivation to Adopt

Our prayer is to grow our family through adoption. My Husband was in the foster care system as a child himself so this is exactly close to our hearts.
