Introduction

Our names are Sarah Kathryn and Patrick Kincaid. I am currently 38 years old. My partner is currently 38 years old. We do not yet have any children

I work full-time for Omnicare of Portland as a Pharmacy Technician and have a flexible work schedule. My partner works full-time for FYI all therapy and balance as a Physical Therapist and has a flexible work schedule.

Home and Community

We live in the State of Oregon. Our home is a 2 story single family home. We live in a small town outside of Portland surrounded by forrest and farmland. We have one or more cats. There are plenty of opportunities for children to participate inclidomg youth sports, girl/boy scouts, a school district which has drama, choir band. There is a river which runs through the town giving opportunities for fishing swimming and boating. A larger metropolitan area is within 30 minutes to an hour by car providing more activities for children including a zoo childrens and science museums.

Parenting Experience

We have 1st hand experience as providing reapite care 3 to 5 days a week consistently for the previous 5 years with time where the child was with us for multiple weeks at a time. We have a young neice who spends the night and we have frequently babysat along with 2 godchildren who we have watched from infancy. We have attended multiple parenting classes including Parenting Now and Circle of Security been active in school parenting groups and coached a soccer team along with aided with a basketball team.

Support

We have an extensive network of friends with children in ages 4 to 13, along with grandparents and siblings that are eager to be a involved in our family. Within the community there is a highly rated school district and within quick travel there other services such as counseling available.

Motivation to Adopt

We have a strong desire to help guide and nuture a child or children. Having provided respite care we understand the challenges in connecting and gaining trust with a child who has experienced the trauma being removed from family. We are excited to welcome a child/children into hearts and home.
