Family Description
We are Claire and Michael! We are a fun-loving, active, and outgoing family looking to grow our family. Our 10-year biological daughter Mneme can’t wait to be a big sister! She is silly, happy, and gets along well with other kids. We have two friendly and sweet dogs who love attention from all kids. We can often be found spending quality family time together biking, swimming, hiking in the woods, jumping on the trampoline in our backyard, or having a family pizza/movie night. We have provided out of home care for relative children when their parents were unable to care for them. That experience is what prompted our interest in adoption. We have an extensive understanding of child development and how trauma can affect children.
We live in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, the state’s second largest city, known for its great arts and outdoors. We are both educators, so we are fortunate to have flexible schedules, where there is always one of us at home with our daughter. We understand the challenges of adopting through foster care and are willing to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to meet the needs and provide unconditional love to a child or children with a trauma-impacted history.
Preference Description
We are hoping to adopt a younger child or sibling group. We are open to any gender or racial/ethnic background.
