"Ashlynn is ready for a loving and caring family."
Ashlynn is a beautiful, happy little girl who loves to snuggle and be held. Although Ashlynn does not communicate using words, she makes cooing noises when she feels comforted. She also babbles and makes baby noises. She reacts to sound around her and will look when someone is speaking. Most of her tactile behavior is in reaction to sound. When you hold her she will put both of her hands on your face and pull you close. Despite her medical needs, Ashlynn is very determined. Ashlynn can see out of the outer ring of her retina. She can track the movement of brightly colored objects with her eyes and will reach for the objects. She will also grab your finger when you place it in her palm and clap her hands together. She can roll and has recently started learning to sit independently on her own. She is very close to crawling and continues to work very hard with her physical therapist to achieve this goal. She loves to play with toys that light up and make music. She has a pink stuffed bumblebee toy that she likes to chew on to soothe her gums as she is currently teething.
Ashlynn will benefit from a family who is trained to care for children with medical needs.Families who have knowledge and experience with tracheostomy, ventilator and g-tubes will be a good fit for Ashlynn. She needs a family who can provide her with constant supervision and love. More importantly, Ashlynn needs a home that is prepared to commit to her for the rest of her life.
