Family Description
Our family is a fun and loving family that values family, friendship and each other. We love to do outdoor and indoor activities. Neal is short, 5'6, but that doesn't bother him at all. He is a mix of various ethnicities, but are predominantly Filipino and African American. He loves sports, video games, Anime and reading graphic novels. Lindsey is the same height as Neal, very outgoing and probably the most caring person you will ever meet! She loves to have conversations and socialize with everyone. Her favorite activities include socializing, DIY activities, and hanging out with family and friends. Avalynn is the sassy monster of the household. She is a petite 2 year old that, once she opens up, will talk a storm with you. She loves to "read" and loves to play with stuff animals and her toys. She would LOVE a sibling to play with.
Preference Description
We would love to adopt a single child, but we would welcome with open arms a sibling group of 2 as well. We are hoping for an older child that we can provide a home, stability and love for.
The Dacaymat Family Profile
We would love to adopt an older child above the age of 10, boy or girl, and are open to a sibling group of 2. We would also consider a younger child, under the age of 10, with an older sibling. We have no preference for ethnicity, race or sexuality. We welcome you all! We are open to children with mild emotional, mental, physical and learning disabilities. Unfortunately, we feel we aren't equipped for severe disabilities. We will do our best to love, mentor and nurture our children to be the best that they can be.
Introduction
Our names are Neal and Lindsey, we are 31 and 29 respectively and we have an adorable two-year old sass monster, Avalynn. We love to do indoor and outdoor activities, and travel to different areas across the states. We love trying new things, especially different cuisines, and spending time with family and friends
Home and Community
Our home and the surrounding area is a wonderful place to raise a family! Our neighborhood has lots of kids, and is safe and friendly. We know our neighbors, look out for one another, and support each other in raising our children. There are many childrens activities that are within walking distance from our home. Pacific University sports and events fields, an aquatic center for swimming and a downtown area that has a wide variety of awesome food: Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, American, etc.
Parenting Experience
Neal and I have a wonderful two-year old daughter, Avalynn. Neal has had a successful military experience in which he became a mentor to several young adults. He took a class, when he was younger, that prepared him to babysit his three younger siblings while his parents were at work. I completed classes in Early Childhood Development and babysat on several occasions for children, of all ages, in my family and close friends.
Support
We have several friends we have close relationships with, spanning over 10+ years. Although they are not in the immediate area, we visit them frequently for get-togethers and special events. In our immediate area, we have a few friends that are very supportive and willing to help when needed. They love to visit and we enjoy spending time together. We have relatives from both my and Neal's family that will support us as well, the majority reside in Washington, Georgia and Florida. We also have access to veteran services as well as adoptive services that we would love to utilize for fun activities, as well as assistance when needed.
Motivation to Adopt
We have always wanted a loving family. We talked for several years about adopting, even before having our daughter. We have journeyed a long way and experienced many hardships in our childhood and as adults. We feel that our experiences are very valuable to our children, as we want to nurture and guide them to success and support them in having the best life we can provide for them.
